Hi Glenn. No I have never detected one either but I am not in a good spot being in the Midwest. A listener from the left or right coast would fair the best I would think.

Today I spent several hours trying out various Kiwi's close to Mongolia and none of them even had a hint of a carrier on any of the 3 frequencies. I will try again now that it is daylight over there......maybe they operate primarily in the daytime, kinda like Romania.

BTW, as of an hour ago LW signals are SUPER weak here....either propagation went to zero or I got a gallon of water in my coax or amplifier from all the storms we have had the last 3-4 days. 73 Gedas W8BYA
