I have worked with Brits and Aussies over the years. They can be a lot of fun. The British usually have such a dry sense of humor. The Aussies can be outlandish. I have noticed that the higher ups of Britain (and I have been in close contact with just a few) usually don't have much of an accent. Aussies remind me of West Texans from England! I am sad to see the Long Wave stations shutting down. Little can we do but you never know. Something exciting may come along to replace them. The US has never figured in to that equation. I wish we would consider it because its a fairly reliable communication over a large area. I can't remember the statistic on LW radios in place but there are still quite a few. The automakers are trying to prevent AM radio in vehicles. They could easily put LW in a car but they have it in their heads that we would be better off without AM. I know too many people who listen to MW. If you listen to FM where I live you don't have to wonder why.
