Good to see VAN being reported again. It had been so long since I heard him here that I'd begun wondering whether Jim was still on the air.

Will be out in the field doing some HiFER monitoring myself later this afternoon.

(That's assuming our rains earlier this week didn't damage the buffer amp I inadvertently left attached to the antenna after last weekend's session. Last time I was out there, the big CME had just produced a G4 magnetic storm, so the band had almost no one visible and absolutely no one audible....not even the mid-band ISM racket. Too much QRN for LF, and by the time I gave up for the night, not yet enough aurora to see more than a faint reddish glow in the north, nearly indistinguishable from the lights of the town north of us. Had the wind turbines north of that town [Parsons] not been visible in the foreground of the auroral glow, I would have mistaken it for reflected street light.)
