The aerial is not unidirectional and I understand is directed eastwards as there are some programs broadcast in Russian for Belarus and in Ukrainian as well since the start of the war.Its output at night is 700kwatts and the signal here in Ireland is nothing like years ago (2000kwtts) when it used to scream in and could even be picked up in the daytime
It is about 1,000 miles further north east than Algeria and Morocco and the signal has a long distance over mountainous continental Europe before reaching the Atlantic on route to Florida whereas the bulk of the path from Morocco and Algeria is over water
There would be a better chance of picking it up in the Canadian maritimes or US New England states where the path would be over lower and less land as well as the path being in darkness for a longer periods especially in the winter
